Landscape

Although much occurs in the paintings of Van Ingen, there seems to be a quietness and clarity about them. This is not only because of the natural colors being used, but also as to the attentive well thought out composition. Symbols and natural signs are layed down like a collage integrated as one image. Although most of the symbols are taken out of their context, their identitiy is kept vivid. A new interpretation is given to their meaning which is essential: the personal search of hidden significance that fascinates. Not only the ability of the artist’s imagination is taken into account, but of the viewer as well. Van Ingen looks after the balance in the compositions is maintained. Conductive is the well-considered arrangement of the figurative and abstract elements.
