Biography (Biographie)

Mieke van Ingen (born 18 June 1962, Delft, the Netherlands) lives and works in the South of France (*)

as a painter and a printmaker with a special interest in the cross over between the two disciplines.

Using motifs extracted from vegetable life, water and clouds, Van Ingen incorporates these forms in her drawings (1 and 2),

               paintings (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) and graphics (1, 2 and 3) with a painterly fluidity. It seems that Van Ingen's work brings together

both ends, modern and tradition, abstract and figurative, graphical and painterly. There is no restriction by borders and

perspective and depth. And nevertheless, through the use of color and contrast, a fictitious space is created, which is enough

to withdraw the viewer, away of the three dimensions of daily life.

Work's are to be found in numerous private and public collections.

"I collect images and combine them and in the process, I make art."
